Kitchenaid Artisan Mixer

Choosing a stand mixer can be a tough choice. There’s Kitchen aid, Cuisinart and Hamilton Beach not to mention Viking.  The Kitchenaid Artisan mixer series is one of the most popular and versitile around. It has become the standard by which others are measured.

Kitchen aid offers a huge selection of stand mixers, so many that I’ll just cover the Artisan here. Their Artisan series is top notch with 23 great colors to choose from to fit any kitchen. It is a 325-watt mixer with 10 speeds, has a tilt-back head for easy access and 2-piece pouring shield with large chute for adding ingredients, and comes complete with flat beater, dough hook, and wire whip.

Cuisinart has a good line-up too but they have far fewer models to choose from. On the plus side if you are looking to stay within a tight budget they have a couple of units that are under $100 although if you are looking for a mixer that will hold up under heavey use I would not recommend buying a low end model.

Perhaps the best thing about the Cuisinart SM-55 and SM-70 is their versitility. You can buy attachments that will turn your stand mixer into a blender, food processor, juicer or pasta maker. If you are short on space this can be a huge plus. They are also powerful with 800 watts and 1000 watts respectively.

Hamilton Beach offers a very good line of stand mixers in a wide variety of prices and styles. They have everything from a hand/stand mixer to commercial grade in many diferent colors.

The Hamilton Beach Eclectrics Die Cast Stand Mixer offers high performance in a reasonably priced appliance at under $200. The 400 watts of power is powerful enough to tackle any mixing need and comes in several choices of finish including Licorice and Apple Green.

Viking has a full line of professional stand mixers that offer quality but are expensive at $450 and up. They have  3 multi-function power outlets, the stainless steel standard accessories are all dishwasher-safe, the tilt-back head locks in up and down position and they have a powerful 1000-watt motor with metal gear transmission.

Choose from Kitchen aid, Cuisinart, Hamilton Beach or Viking and go get your new stand mixer now.
